Is Qur'an Only Enough ?
Should We follow the Prophet Muhammad (saw) ?

Allah says in Surah Al Baqarah, verse 2,
"This is the book (the Qur'an al kareem) whereof there is no doubt, a Guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much and love Allah much)"

There are some people who claim that just following the Qur'an is enough by neglecting the teachings and sayings of Prophet Muhammad (saw). Is their Claim true? Are they good enough in their claim at least?

Nay, Allah says, "...Then do you believe in a part of the scripture and reject the rest?...." [Surah Al Baqarah, Verse 85]

Let us see a few verses from the Qur'an that are being neglected by the group:

O you who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger (Muhammad {saw}) and render not vain your deeds [Qur'an 47:33]

He who obeys the Messenger (Muhammad {saw}) has indeed obeyed Allah, but he who turns away, then We have not sent you (O Muhammad {saw}) as a watcher over them. [Qur'an 4:80]

Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad {saw}) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much [Qur'an 33:21]

It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have an option in their decision. And whosoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed in a plain error. [Qur'an 33:36]

He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed achieved a great achievement (i.e. he will be saved from the Hell-Fire and made to enter Paradise) [Qur'an 33:71]

But no, by your Lord, they can have no faith, until they make you (Muhammad {saw}) judge all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission. [Qur'an 4:65]

On the day when their faces will be turned over in Fire, they will say: "Oh, would that we obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger (Muhammad {saw})." [Qur'an 33:66]

So Brothers and Sisters in Islam, from the above verses from the Qur'an, we for sure know that Paradise is for those who follow the Qur'an and the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (Muhammad {saw}). I hope and pray that Allah will make it easy upon us and also admit us into His Paradise, Ameen !
